Pre-Fitting

I found the Lyric pop-up again on a Hearing Aid forum. I had seen it last year and it looked a little too new at the time. After reviewing their website, it looked like they were only selling the Lyric in California, so I sent in a request for additional information. I was surprised when I received an email that evening informing me that a local clinic about 20 minutes away had the Lyrics available.

I called the clinic and was expecting to hear something about them not being available or worse, that they didn't even know what I was talking about. I couldn't believe it when the woman that answered the phone said they had them and would love to see me for a trial fitting. It turns out the actual audiologist answered the phone and answered a bunch of questions for me and got me really excited about the potential. She scheduled me for an appointment 2 days later and asked that I send her a copy of my latest audiogram.

I faxed the audiogram over the next day and the Audiologist actually initiated a call to me to tell me that my loss was perfect for the range of the device and as long as my canals were deep and straight enough I should be good to go.

I have lots of anticipation at this point but am trying to not get my hopes up too high. The fitting date is the day before the 4th of July, so I know I'll be able to really maximize my 30 day trail with the Lyric.
